How we derive the industry anchors
Last surveyed May 2026. Refreshed quarterly.
Why ranges, not named competitors
A pricing-discovery page that name-drops competitors gives them free advertising on our own URL. Named point prices also go stale faster than ranges — vendors change pricing quarterly, but a $8–$12/mo range survives that. We list buckets so you can see where the market clusters without us shilling for anyone.
Current ranges
- AI dictation appsmonthly subscription$8 – $12 / mo
- AI dictation appsannual subscription$80 – $100 / yr
- Native macOS dictationone-time purchase$20 – $36 once
- Productivity SaaS, low tiermonthly subscription$5 – $9 / mo
How we pick the ranges
We track six publicly-listed apps in the AI-dictation and voice-to-text space, plus the low tier of broad productivity SaaS for comparison. For each app we record the list price on the vendor's pricing page (not promotional bundles, not regional discounts). The displayed range is the 25th–75th percentile of those values — outliers on either end are noted in our internal data but excluded from the displayed bucket.
Refresh cadence
Quarterly, manual. We bump this page and the survey strip together. If you spot a price change that makes our range look stale, tell us at hello@quilin.ai and we'll re-check.
What this isn't
These ranges are not Quilin's price. They're for context only — so you have a sense of what the market currently charges before you tell us what you'd pay. The launch price comes from your answers on the ladder, not from us picking a number off this page.
